a call to all blue-voters anywhere (but especially within 100 miles of Washington DC)
The inauguration of W to his second, and almost certainly even more disastrous, term is iminent. And in our new, safer America, "security" concerns are being used to justify a crackdown on any form of dissent. This of course will make it very difficult to manage any sort of active, traditional protest.
So what can we do? We can take advantage of the fact that, just as with the Republican convention, the red camp is having a party squarely in blue territory. How blue? 90%, that's how blue. This gives us the unmistakeable home-field advantage, even with all of W's friends in town.
The plan is simple, easy, and could be a very effective symbol of resistance. All you need to do is wear blue on inauguration day. Do this wherever you live, and show America just how numerous those of us who support the principles of democracy are. But if you live in or near DC - it is most important that you wear blue, because we want to show W and all his cronies that he is not among friends, that we are stronger than he thinks, and that blue, not red, is the ascendant color of this land.
